Photographer by Night
I love capturing light, laughter, and precious moments through the lens of my camera. When I first picked up a DSLR in 2012, I just wanted a camera that would take a picture when I pushed the button. I had no idea it would take me on the journey of a lifetime. I became fascinated by figuring out how to capture the world that I saw through the lens. After about a year of practicing with my new camera, I decided that I wanted to learn how to use the manual settings. One Christmas, I made a goal to turn my camera to manual mode and never use auto again. I took thousands of really bad pictures at first, but then I noticed that one or two of them actually looked good. I continued to read, watch, and learn more about photography, and most importantly, I continued to practice a lot. I spent my spare time taking pictures of friends, family members, students, distant cousins, strangers – anybody who would (or wouldn’t) smile for the camera. Finally, in 2014, I started taking on a few clients, and I set up a photography website. I spent a few more years dabbling in the world of photography until I finally decided that I prefer taking pictures just for fun and the pleasure of documenting my own life.
